METHOD FOR HARDWARE DIAGNOSIS OF DEMINERALIZATION FOCI IN ENAMEL CARIES AND HIDDEN CAVITIES IN PERMANENT TEETH Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B6/51

Abstract RU 2819494 C1

FIELD: medicine; dentistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for use in detecting caries on visible and hidden surfaces of teeth. Performing professional cleaning with subsequent drying of tooth surfaces. Using the "Estus LED-Alladin" or "Estus Light" apparatus and the "ESTUS-LED-Orange" diagnostic nozzle, which is located depending on the investigated surface and localization of the analyzed tooth in the dental arch, the level of luminescence brightness is selected, starting with a smaller one and increasing the luminescence brightness until the demineralization centers in the analyzed tooth are detected. When detecting enamel demineralization foci in brightness modes, a high level of enamel caries activity is established, medium level of enamel caries activity and low level of enamel caries activity.

EFFECT: method by performing diagnostics by transillumination method, based on difference of light refraction index in healthy and affected tooth tissues due to their different porosity, makes it possible to diagnose initial caries with reduction of time for procedure.
