SUBSTANCE: capsule (10) for the preparation of a beverage from a powdery or granular raw material comprises body (12) of polymeric material, provided with seat (14) suitable for containing the powdery or granular raw material. Seat (14) has opening (16) provided with top edge (18). Capsule comprises permeable foil (20) provided on top edge (18) for closing opening (16) of seat (14). First sealing foil (22) is provided on said permeable foil (20) and is suitable for being removed before using capsule (10). Body (12) comprises bottom wall (30) provided with holes (32). Bottom wall (30) divides said seat (14) from bottom chamber (34) having bottom edge (36) defining bottom opening (38). Bottom opening (38) is closed by second sealing foil (40).
EFFECT: invention provides an improvement in the quality of the beverage through more complete release of the flavour.
