SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to endocrinology and physiotherapy, and can be used in the treatment of diabetic angiopathy of the lower extremities in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Perform a general impact on the patient's body with a magnetic field with a frequency of 100 Hz, the changing direction of the magnetic field from the patient's head to the legs and the reverse. Value of magnetic induction is 70 % of the maximum value of 3.5 mT. Duration of exposure is 20 minutes. One hour after the magnetotherapy procedure, a thin layer application of therapeutic mud with active humic acids is applied to the lower extremities from the feet to the knees. Temperature of mud is 22–24 °C, an exposition is 30 minutes. Frequency of combined procedures is 4–5 times a week, a course of 10 procedures.

EFFECT: method provides an increase in the effectiveness of treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, contributing to the reduction of the progression of vascular complications due to the restoration of impaired microcirculation, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, reducing edema of tissues and enhancing reparative processes, reducing the risk of purulent-necrotic complications.
