SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to therapeutic exercises, physiotherapy, and can be used to treat patients with diabetic angiopathy of the lower extremities and distal diabetic sensorimotor neuropathy. Programmable functional electrical stimulation of muscles on the anterolateral and posterior surfaces of the lower legs is performed. Effecting with bipolar impulse current of 10–60 mA, with the initial choice of the minimum current, capable to cause painless muscle contractions is implemented. Pulse repetition frequency from 10 to 50 Hz according to the scheme: 10 Hz – 1–2 procedures, 20 Hz – 3–4 procedures, 30 Hz – 5–6 procedures, 40 Hz – 7–8 procedures, 50 Hz – 9–15 procedures. Active-passive cyclic bicycle training is conducted on a rehabilitation bike with the achievement of a "higher than moderate" load level under subjective Borg assessment. Duration of the procedure is 25 minutes, out of which 3 minutes are an introductory period, when the patient works actively without electrostimulation, 20 minutes – the main period, when active-passive work of the patient with synchronized electrostimulation takes place, and 2 minutes – the final period when the active-passive work of the patient occurs without electrostimulation. Therapeutic course includes 15 procedures.

EFFECT: method allows to improve the microcirculation of the lower extremities, reduce the intensity of the pain attack in the calf muscles during movement, remove pathological sensitivity to cold, increase the distance traveled before the onset of a pain attack, and increase the sensitivity.
