FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for electron beam welding of tubes made of molybdenum alloy and can be used in the manufacture of thin-wall tube welded products for nuclear and space technology, in particular for the manufacture of the channel liners of the control and protection system. Before butt jointing of tubes, a filler material in the form of an insert made of molybdenum-rhenium alloy is placed between them, the dimensions of which ensure that the rhenium content in the joint is at least 11 %. Tube jointing is performed with the application of the axial force and the insert is fixed with an electron beam at several points. Joint is heated with a defocused beam to a temperature of 800–900 °C. Welding is carried out at a speed of 24–26 mm/s.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a high-quality, strong and plastic welded joint when welding thin-wall tubes made of molybdenum alloys.
