SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser equipment. nitrogen laser excited by a longitudinal electric discharge comprises a cylindrical partitioned discharge tube with nitrogen, including electrodes for igniting a longitudinal electric discharge, charge and discharge circuits for pulsed discharge supply and a resonator for forming a laser beam. In this case, electrodes of discharge tube are made in form of cylinders with a sharp edge in a discharge tube with inner diameter of 11–17 mm.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase energy and duration of radiation pulse.
