SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of configuring a lighting fixture in a virtual environment. Method of enabling configuration of a lighting fixture comprises providing a virtual environment including a first virtual lighting fixture indicative of a first producible lighting fixture, and a first virtual lighting effect generated by the first virtual lighting fixture and indicative of the first producible light output; enabling a user to manipulate parameters of the first virtual lighting effect in the environment to create a second virtual lighting effect; and providing a second virtual lighting fixture in response to manipulation of said parameters; said second virtual lighting fixture indicates a second producible lighting fixture; said second virtual lighting effect indicates the producible second light output achievable by the second producible lighting fixture and unattainable by the first producible lighting fixture.
EFFECT: technical result is to ensure the effective location of the producible lighting fixture that provides the required lighting effect.
