SUBSTANCE: method is made by providing working illumination from at least one lighting device on the working area for the working area when the level of illumination near the working area is lower than the threshold value; monitoring each of a plurality of user segments for the presence of a person, wherein the user segments are adjacent to the work area and used to interact with the user area; and to provide face illumination from at least one lighting device on the work area only for user segments in which a person is present.
EFFECT: ability to selectively apply face lighting and, optionally, selectively used work lights, for example in daylight-sensitive lighting systems and/or therapeutic lighting systems.
