FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to stands that test wheels and axles of wheel sets of railway rolling stock for fatigue resistance. Investigated fragment of the wheel pair, consisting of a wheel with an axle cut into it in the middle, is fixed in the center of the support plate of the stand by means of a ball joint formed by an abutment with a lid and a detachable sleeve pressed onto the axis in the region of its axle journal, and the wheel of the examined fragment of the wheel pair rests on the inner surface of the ring of the rail gauge fixed in a holder mounted on the same support plate coaxially with a vertical axis passing through the center of the ball joint. When rotating an unbalanced mass fixed in the upper part of the axis in the area of its cut, the wheel moves along the inner surface of the rail-gauge ring. In this case, in the axis and wheel, as well as in the contact area of the wheel with the rail-emitter, there are alternating voltages that are as close as possible to those that arise during the operation of the wheel pair. With the additional installation of a key in the ball joint, which does not allow the wheel to rotate about its axis with respect to the rail-gauge ring, it is possible to test the contact zone of the wheel with the rail in the stand taking into account their mutual slippage.
EFFECT: possibility to simultaneously carry out fatigue tests of the axis and all zones of the wheel with a high degree of accuracy under conditions of loading the axle and the wheel, as close as possible to the operational ones, and also conduct a study of the behavior of the material in the contact area of the wheel with the rail both in the absence and in the presence of slippage of their surfaces.
