SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of a welded structural element of high strength steel sheets, in particular for the body of a vehicle. Welded element consists of a base metal element having a first surface and an opposite second surface and an attachable metal element having an abutment surface. End surface of the attached element is adjacent to the first surface and is connected thereto by a welded roller formed on the first surface. Fusing region is formed on the second surface of the base metal element, overlapping the abutment surface of the element to be attached and /or the welded roller. Edge area of the welded roller is located at a distance from the edge area of the abutment of the attached metal element.
EFFECT: welded structure has a high fatigue strength.
