SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an odor analysis technique of gas mixtures containing odor-containing components and may be used to determine the qualitative and quantitative odor analysis of such mixtures. In the method for analyzing the smell of gas mixtures, in that the gas mixtures to be analyzed are passed through measuring sensors, values of electrical response signals are measured by means of measuring sensors, according to the set of measured electrical signals using calibration functions, obtained on gas mixtures with known qualitative and quantitative composition, the intensity of the smell is determined, electrical response signals are measured using a linear non-selective measuring sensor and linear various selective sensors, at the same time, the intensity of odor in the conventional scores is estimated from the magnitude of the electrical response signals of each measuring sensor with the use of calibration functions in the form of dependencies of the intensity of odor in the conditional scores on the magnitude of electrical response signals, sizes of the proportions of the sensor readings among themselves in the conditional scores are determined and compared in the conditional scores with the values of such proportional ratios corresponding to certain odors, and when one of the proportional relationships coincides, within the limits of the errors of each measuring sensor, they consider that there is a corresponding specific smell, the intensity of which relative to the maximum is proportional to the ratio of the conditional scores, determined for any of the sensors, to their maximum value.

EFFECT: reduction in labor intensity and expansion of functionality is achieved.
