SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling screen display. Method for controlling screen display (550) of electronic device (500) includes steps of determining (110), by the electronic device, camera resolution (720) by selecting one of high resolution and low resolution, recognising the face of the user using a camera operating at specific resolution (120), and controlling screen display through face recognition. When the camera is operating at a low resolution, the position of the user's face is recognised, and when the camera is operating at a high resolution, the view position of the user is obtained, and wherein the determination of resolution comprises steps of determining the power status of the electronic device; and selecting one of high resolution or low resolution, depending on the power status of the electronic device.
