Fan assembly includes a base comprising an air inlet, air outlet, and means for creating an airflow through the base, base comprises a lower base section and an upper base section, wherein the upper base section accommodates an air flow generating means, and the lower base section accommodates a control circuit for controlling the air flow generating means; and a nozzle for receiving air flow from the base and for discharging the air flow, lower base section comprising an outer wall and an inner wall, the outer wall and the inner wall forming an outer cavity surrounding the inner cavity, control circuit being located in the internal cavity surrounded by the inner wall.

EFFECT: protection of various elements of control circuit from damage resulting from the ingress of fluids, for example water.
