SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for forming a sealant composition, to a moisture curable sealing system, including a reactive system of a curable sealant composition. Air moisture curable sealant composition system comprises a prepolymer which is a reaction product of an isocyanate component, which comprises at least one polyisocyanate and is capable of reacting with the isocyanate component, which comprises at least a polyoxybutylene polyoxypropylene polyhydric alcohol, where the polyhydric alcohol has a functionality of 1.6 to 3.5 and a number average molecular weight of 1,500 to 8,000, and wherein the polyoxybutylene polyoxypropylene polyhydric alcohol contains from 50 to 85 weight percent of the weight of the polyoxybutylene. Reactive curable sealant composition system comprises a prepolymer as described above and a chain extender having 2 or more isocyanate-reactive reaction groups.
EFFECT: hydrophobic polyhydric alcohols for use in a sealant composition are disclosed.
