SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a system and method for controlling the opening and closing of a vehicle cover panel. This system includes a power drive, having an engine for opening and closing the cover panel. In the method, the auxiliary lifting element interacts with the power drive and is actuated by the controller, which controls the operation of the power drive. And the circuit monitors the current consumed by the motor and signals the controller when the current, necessary to open the cover panel, exceeds a predetermined level, to prevent the operation of the power drive. Further, the position sensor, (or the angle sensor) connected to the engine, can track the position of the cover panel to determine whether the cover panel falls, and to activate the system, which prevents rapid movement of the cover panel.
EFFECT: reliable operation is ensured.
