FIELD: industrial production of oligomers of alpha-olefins.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in petrochemical industry and in organic synthesis. Disclosed is method of producing synthetic motor oils base, characterized by kinematic viscosity index at 100 °C KV100 in range of 10–100 cSt, by catalytic oligomerization of alpha-olefins in atmosphere of molecular hydrogen with subsequent catalytic hydrogenation. Oligomerization catalyst used is zirconium complexes of formulas 1–4
activated with triisobutylaluminium and methylalumoxane (MAO) in molar ratio MAO/catalyst 5–20. Output of oligomers of alpha-olefins of more than 85 % is achieved. Organoaluminium activator used is preferably triisobutyl aluminum in ratio Al:Zr 20–50/1 and then methyl aluminoxane in ratio Al:Zr 5–20/1. Low ratio of Al:Zr in combination with formula of precatalyst provides high yields of oligomers, unattainable when using high ratios of Al:Zr and other zirconocene catalysts. Homogeneous molecular structure provides high efficiency of carrying out catalytic hydrogenation step and low (less than 0.2) indices of the iodine number of the hydrogenated oligomers compared to products obtained using conventional zirconocene catalysts.
EFFECT: homogeneous molecular structure of hydrogenated oligomers obtained using catalytic oligomerization on zirconocenes of the disclosed structure, provides high viscosity index, which makes it possible and expedient to use these oligomers as bases of high-quality polyolefin oils and lubricants.
