This device is configured to optimize the selection of organisms or particles caught by the screen, and also to return at least a portion of the caught organisms or particles to the inlet portion of the device. Such organisms or particles caught by the screen include organisms of biological origin or solids having chemically reactive properties. To catch the fraction with less solid waste treatment time, a solid and liquid phase separator is used.
