SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to preventing the rail vehicle from being clamped. Method of operating the rail vehicle (1) is to control the traction force and/or adjust the traction force of at least one drive wheel (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) of the rail vehicle (1), which acts between the respective wheel (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) and the associated running rail (2). Where the power between the wheel (3a, 3b, 4a, 4b) and the running rail (2) is temporarily reduced by the control device (5) and/or by the traction control device. In this case, the thrust force is limited to thrust values that are less than the first thrust force for the predetermined or predictable duration. Control device and/or traction control device and the rail vehicle are also stated.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the wheel wear.
