SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication technology and can be used in optical network systems in discrete multi-tonality (DMT). Serial information signal is converted into groups of bits and loaded into parallel processing branches based on the bit rates of the parallel processing branches. Each branch is arranged to encode an associated group of data bits in an associated tone. First bit rate and the modulation and energy distribution of the first branch from the branches may differ from the second bit rate and the modulation and energy distribution of the second branch from the branches. Recover incoming data, the encoded signal can be processed in parallel using branches with different demodulation formats, and a serial data stream can be provided.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of transmission capacity.
