SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a material for manufacturing a plate-like steel core and solves the problem of reducing the filling factor of the plate-shaped steel core by thinning the adhesive layer between the steel sheets. Average arithmetic value of the surface roughness Ra of a plurality of steel sheets stacked on each other and simultaneously pierced when manufacturing a plate-shaped steel core used as a material for producing plate-like steel cores, is 0.40 mcm or less. In addition, the deviation of the sheet thickness in the sheet width direction of at least a portion of the sheet directly used to make the plate steel core, that is of the steel sheet forming the material for the plate-shaped steel cores is 3 mcm or less by 500 mm.
EFFECT: said plurality of steel sheets being used as a material for producing plate-like steel cores; these steel sheets are stacked on top of each other and are subjected to simultaneous piercing; The obtained cut elements are stacked on each other and fastened together, forming the above-mentioned plate-like steel core.
