FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to the experimental determination of ship stability characteristics. Method for testing ship hull models is proposed, which makes it possible to assess the stability of a ship by carrying out the experience of heeling, which consists in carrying out a series of successive movements on the ship of roll ballast in the transverse direction with the purpose of creating a series of inclinations and measuring the corners of the roll. Preliminarily with the aid of a loading system, the effect of hydrodynamic loads on the bow of the ship under the conditions of the capture by the wave of the nasal extremity is simulated.
EFFECT: it is possible to experimentally determine the stability characteristics of ships in conditions of wave capture of the nose end, which expands the possibilities of investigating the negative consequences that may occur, such as a ship's overturning.
