SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a locking device for firearm and a method for controlling such a locking device. Locking device comprises a locking cartridge configured to be inserted into the firearm chamber. Locking cartridge comprises a housing similar to a cartridge and a locking mechanism located in the housing similar to the cartridge. If the locking mechanism is in an unlocked state, the locking mechanism is removed from the firearm chamber by cocking the firearm, and when the locking mechanism is in a locked state, the cocking of firearms can secure the locking mechanism in the firearm chamber. Locking device may further comprise an actuator configured to change the state of the locking mechanism between the locked state and the unlocked state, and a controller having an active communication with the actuator, configured to control the actuator in accordance with a signal received from an input device. In some embodiments, the locking cartridge, actuator and controller may be removed from the firearm together as a unit.

EFFECT: safety of weapon storage is achieved.
