FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of digital mapping and can be used to construct digital models of surface snow characteristics maps. Essence: perform filtering and removing noise from the series of glaciological observations. Determine the rate gradient of the variability of the map parameter. Determine the optimal gridding parameters – the size of the grid cell, the radius of the search, the radius of averaging. Perform interpolation using the Kriging method. Eliminate the edge effects of spatial interpolation by applying custom filters to simulated values between grid nodes. Accuracy of the obtained spatial model of the surface snow characteristics is estimated by calculating the grid error taking into account the spatially averaged real data.
