FIELD: protective devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ground-based means of protecting aircraft gas turbine engines. Method for controlling vortex formation on the surface of an aerodrome under aircraft air intakes consists in locating the general-purpose ground service facility on the gas field. Ground maintenance vehicle (3) with the shield (5) is located at a distance Rz = 15–20DLEQ from the longitudinal axis of the aircraft at the corners δ = ±45° and δ = ±135° in four possible positions, where – equivalent diameter of the inlet to the air intake duct, m; S – area of the inlet cross-section of the air intake, m2. Then, the hinged lowering of shield (5) is carried out from the lower part of the body of ground maintenance equipment to the surface of the gas field, fixed by means of clamps (6) between the front and rear wheels.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the intensity of the vortex formation in front of the air intakes of the aircraft in the counter-lateral and posterolateral direction of the wind at the surface of the aerodrome.
