FIELD: means of communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of communication. Technical result is increase in the percentage of successful implementation and stability of switching from the T.38 facsimile channel to the voice transmission channel. Said technical result is achieved by the fact that after beginning of the T.38 facsimile channel operation, counting of the planned periods first number, during which demodulated by the local station data, are not continuous facsimile data, and counting of the planned periods second number, during which the local station does not continuously receive transmitted by the remote station the T.38 packet; and evaluation whether both of the said first number and the said second number have reached the threshold value, and switching from the said T.38 facsimile channel to the telephone communication channel when both of the said first number and the said second number have reached the threshold value.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in the percentage of successful implementation and stability of switching from the facsimile channel.
