FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used for surgical stapling. Cartridge comprises a cartridge body, a deck with a covering layer and fasteners removably stored within the cartridge body. Cartridge body comprises a longitudinal slot configured to receive a cutting member. Layer includes a first layer and a second layer. First portion extending over the slot. Second portion located laterally with respect to the first portion and the slot. Characteristics of the first part and the second part are different. First part can be thicker than the second part or the first part can be stiffer than the second part. First part rigidly supports the tissue that are adjacent to cut extending through the tissue which is created by the cutting member. Second portion, positioned further away from the longitudinal cut in the tissue, can flexibly support such tissue.
EFFECT: implantable arrangements for surgical staple cartridges are proposed.
