SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of searching for a faulty block in a continuous dynamic system based on a change in the position of an input signal. To find the faulty block, record the number of dynamic elements that make up the system, determine the monitoring time, use the input signal, fix the system control points, register the reaction of the monitored system, record the reaction of the system with nominal characteristics at control points, give a signal to the input of the system with nominal characteristics and to the input of the monitored system, change the position of the input signal for each of the system blocks, find integral estimates of the output signals, deformations of integral estimates, normalized values of deformations, use the obtained normalized values of integral estimates for the calculation of diagnostic features, a faulty unit is determined for a minimum of the diagnostic characteristic.

EFFECT: provides a reduction in computing costs in determining the defects of the dynamic system.
