SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of machine control. Said method for the acoustic analysis of a machine, comprising: the acquisition of at least one acoustic signal supplied by at least one microphone positioned inside the machine, wherein the method further comprises the steps of: separating at least one acoustic signal into a plurality of sound sources, wherein said signal is modelled as a mixture of components, each of which corresponds to one sound source, for at least one of the sound sources, a characteristic acoustic signature is determined, at least one characteristic acoustic signature is compared with at least one reference acoustic signature recorded in the reference database.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve diagnostics and prediction of machine defects.
