SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lighting engineering. In accordance with the present invention, the method and device for adjusting luminosity are proposed. Method of adjusting the luminosity is characterized in the fact that it includes the following: obtaining the preset brightness of the ambient light corresponding to the reading mode, which is user-friendly in the process of reading, in case of obtaining the first state instruction, which requires the terminal to enter the reading mode, in which the user reads using the terminal; obtaining the hardware identification of the adjustable lighting device, which is installed in the premise at the terminal location; and adjustment of luminance of the adjustable lighting device, which corresponds to the hardware identification, depending on the preset brightness of the ambient light.
EFFECT: protection of the eyesight of the user.
