FIELD: electronic equipment.

SUBSTANCE: electrified rail, in particular, for powering metal shelving units equipped with electronic labels, displays and/or other peripheral devices on the front side, including body (1, 100) from an electrical insulating plastic material, equipped with longitudinal slots (3) at a suitable distance from each other, in each of which wire or strand of electrically conducting metal (4) is surrounded for more than 180 ° of its cross-section by the internal walls of respective slot (3), so that the remaining section of same wire 4 is exposed and can be used for electrical communication to connect the wire to the connector or to an electrical or electronic device attached to said rail body (1, 100), characterized in that rail body (1, 100) is formed as a single piece of polycarbonate (PC) or polyphenylene oxide (PPO) and/or other composite materials, having suitable mechanical characteristics, with high electrical insulation and high thermal stability, preferably non-flammable, and in that said slots (3) containing electric wires (4) are such and arranged such that if after the extrusion step the still hot rail is bent in the transverse direction, slots (3) themselves flex open to facilitate the insertion of the electric wires, slots (3) are provided in their lower part with longitudinal middle grooves (6) having a width and depth necessary to provide an elastic deformation in the transverse direction of the rail itself during its production, with the formation of a variable torque center in the region of grooves (6) which is parallel to the longitudinal axis of grooves (6), the width of which is smaller than width (D) of the open mouth of slots (3) to hold electric wires (4), said slots (3) are positioned one beside the other, and after wires (4) are covered and held, the grooves are open on visible planar side (102) of rail body (1, 100) by longitudinal necks (103) having width (D) that is always lesser than the diameter of wires (4); depth of slots (3) is perpendicular to said visible side (102) and has value (C'), sufficient for wire (4) to be held and protected in slot (3), covering wires (4) for more than 180 ° of their cross-sections, wires (4) are held in slots (3) by means of the stiffness and structural non-deformability of the material forming whole body (1, 100) of the rail itself, whereas, through narrow necks (103) of said slots (3), each electric wire (4) may be accessible for spring-loaded contacts (32) of connectors (29) or devices (33) mounted on same body (1,100), where base (2) of rail body (1, 100) has on its underside (2) small longitudinal grooves (9) having dimensions equal to or different from the dimensions of lower grooves (6) of slots (3) holding electrical wires (4), said lower longitudinal grooves are in a shifted symmetrical position with respect to longitudinal grooves (6) of slots and permit lateral deformation of the rail during its manufacture.

EFFECT: electrified rail, in particular, for supplying electric power to metal shelving units and the way of its production are proposed.
