FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to optical access networks. Optical cable and a method therefor is described. Optical cable comprises a carrier core comprising a longitudinally and radially extending groove, comprising at least one optical fiber, the slot having a width (W) providing a small clearance for the optical fiber (-s), placed in it and preventing the engagement of the two optical fibers with each other; groove has a depth (D), equal to or less than the radius of the core carrier, and the supporting core is made of a material having a modulus of elasticity of at least 40 GPa.
EFFECT: technical result is great protectability against micro-bends and easy accessibility.
