FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to the ilmenite concentrates processing method for the titanium slags production, which are raw materials for the titanium dioxide and metallic titanium production. Ilmenite concentrates processing method involves preparation of the ilmenite containing charge concentrate and coke, making briquettes using binder, their drying, baking briquettes in the furnace, and the reduced iron particles separation from the ilmenite concentrate. Using charge of ilmenite concentrate, coke with the sodium chloride addition in the ratio 1:(0.08–0.10):(0.09–0.10), briquettes annealing is carried out in the furnace at a temperature of 1,350–1,450 °C followed by the briquettes isothermal aging in the furnace at the annealing temperature. Reduced iron particles from the ilmenite concentrate separation is carried out by subjecting them to the mechanical vibration with amplitude of at least 1 mm, frequency of at least 3 Hz for at least 5 minutes.

EFFECT: inventions enable reduction in energy consumption while maintaining a high degree of iron reduction and iron particles from the ilmenite concentrate separation possibility.
