FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for granulating a charge of ore concentrates in preparation for a metallurgical transformation. Method for granulating a charge comprising ilmenite concentrate and anthracite includes grinding and blending the components of the charge, adding a binder to form a granulation mixture, pelletizing and then drying the granules. When mixed in a charge, the weight ratio of ilmenite concentrate: anthracite is (10–12):1, an aqueous solution of beet bin molasse BM with a weight ratio BM:water equal to (1–5):1 is used as the binder. Aqueous solution of BM in the granulated mixture is 8–12 % of the weight of the charge. Before being pelletized, the mixture is extruded through a grid with a predetermined cell size.

EFFECT: invention provides a high percentage of yield of strong granules of a given size at a reduced drying temperature of the granules, as well as the use of a by-product of sugar production.
