SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of automatic analysis. System for automatic transfer of a reagent to an analysis unit comprises: a cartridge comprising an identifier, an analysis unit, a reagent unit; and a meter including a fluid transfer device comprising a programmable processing device and a plurality of heads for engaging with the analysis unit. Meter is configured to receive a cartridge, to read the identifier on the cartridge and to transmit the identity of the identifier to an external device, wherein the programmable processing device is configured to receive a cartridge-specific protocol from the external device, comprising instructions for direct transfer of the reactant from the reagent unit to the analysis unit, wherein the cartridge has an excess of a diluent to compensate for possible changes in the cartridge-specific protocol. Method for automatically transferring a reagent to an analysis unit is also disclosed.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to conduct complex analyses, and to reduce the cost of manufacturing components of the device.
