FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining the presence or concentration of the analyzed substance in the liquid sample present in the container, comprises: (a) translucence of the container along the first section having the first path length for receiving the first light intensity measurement transmitted along the first path length, (b) determining that the first measurement is beyond the predetermined dynamic range of the transmitted light intensity, (c) moving the liquid sample in the said container to another section with another path length, and (d) translucence of the said container along another section for receiving another light intensity measurement transmitted through another path length. Herewith, steps (c) and (d) are optionally repeated in the said container until the light intensity measurement is within the predetermined dynamic range, thus determining the presence or concentration of the analyzed substance.

EFFECT: increasing the detection reliability of the analyzed substance.
