TINTING MACHINE AND METHOD OF DOSING DYE INTO PAINT CONTAINER WITH BASE PAINT Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC B05B15/50 B01F13/10

Abstract RU 2669849 C1

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a tinting machine for dosing a dye into a paint container and to a method for dispensing one or more dyes to a paint container with a base paint using such a tinting machine. Tinting machine (1) comprises a plurality of dye-containing dye tanks (4), one or more cleaning fluid supply channels, one or more dosing heads (2) for dosing the dye into ink container (3). One or more dispensing heads comprise fluid outlet port (16) for dispensing the colorant to ink container (3), and inner chamber (19) having an inner surface and having an upstream end opening in the fluid outlet. Each dye tank is in fluid communication with the inner chamber of at least one of the one or more dosing heads through the dye supply channel opening in the inner chamber at dye inlet (20). One or more channels for supplying the cleaning fluid are opened in one or more dosing heads (2) at inlet (24) of the cleaning fluid in the inner chamber. One or more metering heads further comprise piston (25) having an outer side surface. Piston is disposed longitudinally and movably in the inner chamber, so that annular space (29) is formed by the outer side surface of the piston and the inner surface of the inner chamber. Piston includes bypass projection (26) forming constriction (28) in the annular space. Piston is movable through the inner chamber between a first position in which the protrusion is in front of the dye inlet and a second position in which the protrusion is behind the dye inlet. Invention also relates to a method for dispensing one or more dyes to paint container (3) with a base paint using tinting machine (1), according to which the dye is fed from reservoir (4) for the dye through dye supply duct (14) to inner chamber (19), and dye the dye through the fluid outlet into the paint container, while the piston is in the first position. Cleaning fluid is then supplied from the source of the cleaning fluid through the cleaning fluid supply channel to inner chamber (19), while the piston is in a position in which protrusion (26) is behind the inlet of the cleaning fluid. Thereafter, piston (25) is moved between the first position and the second position, while the cleaning fluid is present in annular space (29), to remove the residual colorant from the inner surface of the inner chamber to produce a cleaning fluid with a residual colorant. Cleaning fluid is then discharged with the residual colorant from the dosing head through fluid outlet (16).

EFFECT: enabling the inner chamber to be cleaned of the residual color with a small amount of cleaning fluid by supplying a cleaning fluid to the inner chamber and moving the piston between the first and second position.
