FIELD: systems of Earth observation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to satellite Earth observation systems. Method involves the transfer of a satellite from a multiple geosynchronous orbit to a near-high-resolution coplanar quasi-synchronous orbit with a small periodicity of observation of a given region of the Earth. Due to the phasing on the multiple geosynchronous or intermediate orbits, the passage of the satellite path through the specified predetermined region is ensured, after the observation of which the satellite is returned to a multiple geosynchronous orbit (with a greater periodicity of observation of a given area). This method is used as many times as required to observe the specified given area of the Earth.
EFFECT: technical result is to reduce the periodicity of observing the given regions of the Earth and to improve the quality of the information obtained.
