FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometallurgical processing of ore concentrates, preferably columbite or columbite-tantalite concentrate. Method for separating the compounds of niobium and tantalum comprises a collective extraction of octanol-1 niobium and tantalum from acid sulfate-fluoride solutions and addition to the solution of sulfuric and hydrofluoric acids obtained after extraction. Conduct a re-extraction of niobium with sulfuric acid, and tantalum with water to obtain re-extracts of niobium and tantalum, respectively. Tantalum re-extract is evaporated, strengthened with sulfuric and hydrofluoric acids, and repeated extraction is carried out with octanol-1. Extraction of niobium is contacted with octanol-1 and the resulting organic phase, containing niobium and tantalum, is added to the collective extract.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the consumption of hydrofluoric and sulfuric acids, to reduce the material flows of the aqueous and organic phases, as well as the harm to the environment, to use various niobium and tantalum-containing raw materials.
