SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of transportation of a liquefied natural gas load that can undergo transformation during transportation, depending on the conditions during transportation. Disclosed is a method for estimating a characteristic (Qn', Q1') of a liquefied natural gas load transported by a transport ship, at one point of a journey (401, P; 501, 502, 503), wherein the estimation is carried out by integrating a law linking the instantaneous change of the load to an instantaneous navigation condition (410, 411, 412, 420; 510, 511, 512) from a reference point (400, P; 500) at which said characteristic (Qn, Q1) is known.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improving the quality and/or quantity of liquefied natural gas transported by a ship at any navigation point, and choosing the optimal sea route for the transport ship.
