SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of groundless plant cultivation. Device comprises plurality of elements (41) with a fluid passage through which the supply fluid passes through, with through holes (41a–41c) on their upper surface. Movement mechanisms (13–15) move a plurality of elements (41) to the fluid channels, such that the distance between two adjacent elements (41) of the plurality of elements (41) becomes variable. On the nutrient medium for seedlings plant seeds are located. Areas for retaining nutrient medium (51a–51c) are cylindrical in shape and contain the nutrient medium for seedling (44) to retain it. Sections (51a–51c) are inserted into through-holes (41a–41c) of the plurality of elements (41) or are in communication with through-holes (41a–41c) of plurality of elements (41) and absorb the nutrient fluid into seedling medium (44). First plate portion (52) is located on the upper side of elements (41), is plate-shaped and extends in the direction of movement from elements (41). Second plate portion (53) is located on the upper side of elements (41), is plate-shaped and extends in the direction opposite to the direction of travel from elements (41). When the distance between two adjacent elements (41) becomes small, second plate portion (53) located on previous element (41) and first plate portion (52) located on next element (41) overlap in the up / down direction. When the distance between two adjacent elements (41) becomes large, second plate portion (53) located on the previous element (41) and first plate portion (52) disposed on next element (41) are separated from each other with respect to the direction of travel.
EFFECT: effective use of space for plants at an early stage is ensured, while the lowering of plant leaves in the grown state is prevented.
