FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology and biochemistry, in particular to L-arabinose isomerase, having an increased activity of converting D-galactose to D-tagatose as compared to an arabinose isomerase containing a substitution of leucine at position 469 with proline, or a wild type arabinose isomerase. Said L-arabinose isomerase contains a substitution of the amino acid at position 275 with an amino acid having a non-polar aliphatic side chain except phenylalanine, and substitution of the amino acid at position 469 with proline in the amino acid sequence presented in SEQ ID NO: 1. Invention also relates to a microorganism of the genus Corynebacterium producing said L-arabinose isomerase and a method for preparing D-tagatose using said microorganism.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain D-tagatose with high efficiency.
