FIELD: defectoscopy.
SUBSTANCE: use for the detection and evaluation of welded joints of rails and other regular objects. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that a device is created on the defectoscope means creating a magnetic field in the rail, moving the defectoscope means and fixing the changes of the magnetic field in the rail by a sensor sliding along the surface of the rail, detect, record and store signals from regular objects, form a list of their coordinates in the diagnostic map of the track section, additionally form a pattern of regular objects, calculate the coefficient of mutual correlation of the coordinates of objects from the list and the template, and by its value determine the signals from regular objects.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of increasing the probability of detection of welded joints of rails and other regular objects.
