FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of engineering. Flywheel with the variable moment of inertia contains two semiaxes (1, 2), on which the external chamber of cylindrical form (3) is rigidly fixed. Inside the outer chamber, a coaxially located inner chamber (4) is fixed rigidly. Inside the inner chamber there is a piston (5) with the possibility of moving along the flywheel axis by means of a rod (6). Between the cylindrical surface of the outer chamber and the cylindrical surface of the inner chamber there is an annular piston (7) which is movable along the walls of coaxial cylindrical surfaces. Cavities located under the cylindrical and annular pistons are hydraulically connected to each other and filled with liquid. Cavities above the pistons are interconnected and filled with air. Several pairs of radial baffles are located under the annular piston. Some radial partitions are fixed to the bottom of the annular piston and move with it.
EFFECT: smoothness of the moment of inertia of the flywheel and simplification of control are achieved.
