SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to embodiments of an airbag pan assembly for an automotive dashboard, a passenger airbag system and an airbag tray. Tray assembly attaches the airbag module to the car dashboard. Outer collar attaches the assembly to the dashboard. Tubular tray extends inwardly from the collar to the lower end to form an opening path for the airbag. Door leaf is located at the top end of the tray, with the possibility of turning from the collar to exit the dashboard. Hinge securing the door leaf to the collar comprises a plurality of S-shaped expandable loops spaced transversely along one edge of the door leaf. First loop next to one side of the hinge has a first length shorter than the second length of the second loop adjacent to the opposite lateral end of the hinge, thereby restricting the rotation of the door leaf at one side end to avoid contact with the windshield during deployment.
