SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to equipment for crushing rocks. In the method, the cone crusher comprises a stationary bowl, a head assembly disposed movable within the stationary bowl to create a crushing gap between the stationary bowl and the head assembly including the crushing head, an eccentric assembly, a counterweight having inner and outer oil chambers separated by a substantially vertical separation wall. In this case, the separation wall of the counterweight is made substantially vertical and extends from a substantially horizontal floor, and the splash guard with its radial outer end is connected to the vertical partition wall with the possibility of hanging over at least a portion of the horizontal bottom for further separation of the inner oil chamber and the outer oil chamber. Said counterweight for use in the cone crusher comprises a horizontal bottom, a vertical partition wall, a splash guard, an inner wall, a plurality of spaced drainage openings of the inner chamber, extending through the bottom and located inside the internal oil chamber, a plurality of spaced drainage openings of the outer chamber extending through the bottom and located in the outer oil chamber.
EFFECT: combination of the inner and outer oil chambers reduces the amount of oil that can enter the upper seal assembly.
