FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an absorber for removing carbon dioxide from gas mixtures, a method for its preparation, and a method for purifying gas mixtures from carbon dioxide. Absorber of the invention is a calcium oxide containing macropores that form a bound spatial structure, the proportion of macropores having a size in the range of 150 nm to 1,000 nm being at least 30 % in the total specific pore volume, the volume of micropores and mesopores does not exceed 69 %, the pore volume with a size of more than 500 nm does not exceed 1 % in the total pore volume. Absorber is prepared by thermal decomposition of a mixture of calcium hydroxide and particles of burnable polystyrene beads or carbon black with particle sizes of 150–1,000 nm at a temperature of 900–1,100 °C.
EFFECT: high and stable sorption capacity of the regenerated absorber during operation, high speed of gas mixture cleaning, low cost of absorber.
