Method to control defrosting for a microwave oven, comprising the steps of: S1 – receive the defrost instruction; S2 – start defrosting; S3 – control the defrost state in such a way as to maintain the temperature of the products in the microwave oven in the range -3 °C – 0 °C; S4 – determine the temperatures at the set of temperature detection points for products in the microwave oven; wherein step S3 comprises the step of: S31B – defrost products according to the temperatures at the set of temperature detection points for products, to keep the temperature of the products at -3 °C – 0 °C. Moreover, the temperatures at the set of temperature detection points for products are determined by means of an infrared temperature sensor, located in the microwave oven, in step S4. In this case, the infrared temperature sensor comprises M infrared sounders for temperature reading, and temperatures at the set of temperature detection points for products are determined by means of the infrared temperature sensor, where N and M are positive integers, and N is less than or equal to M.

EFFECT: technical result is to provide optimal defrosting parameters for preserving the useful properties of products.
