FIELD: domestic appliances. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to microwave oven having illumination unit located inside compartment housing electric components and meant to illuminate cooking chamber. Illumination unit corresponding to present invention is designed for its direct connection to upper part of guiding channel and disconnection from it. End of wire connected to external power supply source carries contacts that engage contacts on upper part of illumination socket which protrude upwards. Such design makes it easy to mount illumination unit and to replace filament lamp. Input contacts of illumination socket are completely entered into connecting holes preventing electric shock by that. EFFECT: manufacture of microwave ovens with updated reliable illumination unit. 4 cl, 5 dwg
