FIELD: agitation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spray nozzles and can be used for atomizing and spraying a liquid. In the method, gas assisted liquid spray nozzle (10) comprises a hollow nozzle body defining a mixing zone and a barrel extension zone downstream of said mixing zone. Said mixing zone communicates with the barrel extension zone. Said nozzle assembly also comprises an elongated pressurized liquid injector that is coaxial with the nozzle body in its interior to form a gas chamber between the nozzle body and the pressurized liquid injector. In addition, the nozzle assembly includes liquid inlet (22) adapted to be connected to a fluid supply source and gas inlet (21) adapted to be connected to a gas supply source. Said pressurized liquid injector has a liquid inlet extension passageway and a plurality of discharge orifices extending transversely through the pressurized liquid injector and adjacent to the downstream end of the extension passageway, to direct liquid from the extension passageway to the mixing zone in the transverse direction relative to the central axis of the mixing zone. Also, the nozzle assembly includes spray tip (25) mounted on the downstream end of the barrel extension zone having a discharge orifice through which atomized liquid directed through the barrel extension zone is discharged in a predetermined spray pattern. Said gas chamber is connected to the mixing zone and the barrel extension zone by a plurality of gas outlets. Each of the liquid outlets connecting the pressurized fluid injector with the mixing zone and the barrel extension zone is disposed in accordance with one of the gas outlets connecting the gas chamber and the mixing zone so that the liquid exiting the pressurized liquid injector through each liquid outlet is directed to a single jet of gas exiting the gas chamber. Gas assisted liquid spray nozzle (10) comprises fluid inlet (22) including an elongated liquid pressurized liquid injector extending into the mixing zone along the central axis of the mixing zone. Said extension passageway forms an internal baffle surface for directing fluid from the extension passageway to the mixing zone in the transverse direction relative to the central axis of the mixing zone. Said device is fixed in nozzle body (17) at its downstream end by a radial wall which forms the downstream end of the gas chamber communicating with gas inlet (21).
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to increase the efficiency of operation of the spray nozzle at low liquid pressures, to reduce the steam consumption necessary for effective liquid spraying, to simplify and improve the reliability of the structure.
