FLUID INJECTION NOZZLE FOR FLUID BED REACTORS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC B01J8/18 C10B31/00 C10B55/10

Abstract RU 2680484 C2

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nozzle unit used for the injection of fluids, namely heavy oils, such as residues from the distillation of oil and bitumen, into circulating fluid bed reactors, and also to fluid bed coking reactors containing said nozzle and a coking unit containing said reactor. Said nozzle unit for the injection of raw materials includes a pre-mixer including tapered and expanding zones arranged in series, wherein at the entrance of the expanding zone there are radial inlets for water vapor which is used for mixing liquid heavy oil raw materials with a spray of steam to form a mixture of liquid raw materials and water vapor, including gas bubbles in the liquid, a flow pipeline following the exit of the pre-mixer and connected to it passing from the pre-mixer to the outlet nozzle for transporting the flow of the mixture of liquid and water vapor obtained in the pre-mixer to the outlet nozzle and an outlet nozzle having a tapered inlet section following the flow pipeline and connected to it to shear the mixture of liquid raw material and water vapor and form droplets of liquid raw material having a reduced size at the outlet of the outlet nozzle. Said reactor contains a reactor wall forming a circular cross section about a vertical axis, a lower inlet for a fluidizing gas and nozzle units for injection of liquid heavy oil raw material and spraying water vapor above the lower inlet for a fluidizing gas and around the wall of the reactor, each nozzle unit passes through the reactor wall into the reactor so that the nozzle outlet is located inside the reactor and the inlet for liquid heavy oil feedstock is located at the end remote from the outlet nozzle. In the nozzle assembly, erosion is minimized at the site where the spraying water vapor and the heavy oil supplied contact and mix, however, adequate mixing of water vapor and bitumen is maintained and low pressure pulsations are maintained downstream of the mixer.

EFFECT: invention provides improved mixing of heavy oil raw material and spraying water vapor, which leads to increased stability and reduced erosion, and also allows the use of a wider range of operating conditions, including a wider range of conditions.
